Sandwich making

We have had a really busy few days learning about different types of sandwiches and bread. We then designed and made our own sandwiches. We got to taste rye bread, soda bread, granary, baguette, white and brown bread. Most of us were willing to try it all but only a couple of us liked the rye bread. Joshua R liked it so much he designed a rye bread double decker sandwich. Unfortunately it didn't taste so good when it came to lunchtime! Jim was the only one who had a pitta bread and Harry was adventurous enough to try a bagel!
Lots of us designed double deckers and when it came to it white bread was the favourite despite so many people liking granary bread during the tasting.
We had to try and have a healthy aspect to our sandwiches and the children were encouraged to try new things and add a variety of ingredients. There were some interesting designs (Gabriel, Alfie, Louis W) but the children soon realised that sweet and sour don't really go well together in a sandwich...
The photos below show us eating our finished product and there are a few shots of us making too.

We all worked really hard and had a very successful and fun 3 days of D.T!

Happy Christmas everyone. Hope you have a good rest!!!
